preschool party
Kassidy's preschool had a Christmas party. They made gingerbread houses and sang us a handful of songs. Kassidy had a special line in the song Rudolph (she was the only one to have a 'solo!'). She said "like a lightbulb!" :D
3rd annual christmas tree hunt
We are so thankful to the D family for letting us explore their 80 acres of mountain woods to find our 3rd real Christmas tree! It's now a tradition (as of 3 years ago) to go hunt down our own tree, chop it down, and bring it home. This year our tree is a whopping 12 feet high! As we look at it in our front room, over half way to the top of the cathedral ceiling, we wonder how in the world we managed to fit it in the truck. :) And since we live in CO now, our tree is slightly less "Charlie Brown tree-looking" since our previous 2 trees came from 'wooded' NM. :D Once we get a picture of it, we'll post a picture of the tree in the house here. Anyhow, here's a few pics from our hunt!
kassi
Such a little lady now! She's looking more and more like Shirley Temple every day...:) She watches Shirley Temple's sing a long with Gramma now and love it.

Next Year, Buddy!!
Our Little Bomber!!
We took Kassidy skiing for her first time at a real resort. The first time, with all day lessons, she wasn't so sure about it. But when Daddy took her for the day she LOVED it! He said she was a little bomber, just tearing off down the hill. That's my girl!!!

Two Little Cowkids
Kassidy insisted on these costumes for them both. She did a pretty good job I think - they are the cutest cowkids I've ever seen!!
I know, the horses need some help with their necks......!
Kassidy and Grandma!! And while we're on the subject of my beautiful mom.....I have some news to share! My dad retires in DECEMBER and my mom retires in FEBRUARY!!!!!! YEA!!!!

We went to the Harvest Gathering at my parents church. ALL kinds of games. Landon's favorite was the coke bottle game....he tried it from far away...Then decided it would be much more efficient if he just walked up and placed the rings on the bottles....They applauded and told him he won!! So he won a 2 liter of coke. :)
He kept saying all night "I DID it! I DID it!!"
And, of course, we ended the night with WAY too much candy....!!!

Miss Kassidy
This little gal is growing up too fast. She is loving preschool and keeping her teachers impressed with her smarts and her creativity. She is quite the little artist! It's the best drawing I've seen from a 4 year old! We love her best for her sweets and for the blessing that she is......gorgeous as can be both inside and out. :)

Camping with the Heins Family
Top Ten Memories from the Labor Day Camping weekend with our Friends:
10. Greg falling off his bike down a cliff into a stream while paying too much attention to Kristi and Landon than which way his bike is going.
9. Going to bed BOTH nights before 9pm.
8. Kelsey and Kassidy taking several trips to the stream to get water for their town - they are best friends!! They play together SO well.
7. Micah and Landon getting along for almost 5 minutes at a time, more than once! Two 2-year old boys, not the best combo, but they did well playing frisbee and digging, as long as neither one took the other's frisbee or shovel. :)
6. The little girls potty spot...complete with view. Kassidy said (while sitting on the potty) "this is the BEST camping trip EVER." And Kelsey thought it best to be completely nude to use the potty, for big jobs anyhow.
5. Climbing to the top of Mt Herman - both little girls did AWESOME! Little boys made it, too, with a little help. :)
4. Smores. As Kelsey said, "You can only do 'snores' when it's very dark!"
3. Cookie dough.
2. Cookie dough ON smores.
1. Cookie dough in a pudgy pie maker. This moment in itself convinced Brian he needs a pudgy pie maker.
